The Port to Port MTB race started in 2014, as a sister event to the highly popular Cape to Cape MTB race in Western Australia. The state of NSW needs good mountain bike stage races, and the Port to Port MTB race has delivered. The riders are there, and the promoters. The race connects Port Stephens and the Port of Newcastle, via the Hunter Valley. Bear in mind this isn’t a point-to-point race – you’ll need transport.
The organisers have shown they can create Australia’s best stage race over on the west coast, and they’re chasing the same level over on the east coast.
At Port to Port, you can race one day, all four, or something in-between.
