Platt turns the table on Stander in Langkawi

Team Bulls rider Karl Platt reversed the result of the opening stage of the 2011 Langkawi International MTB Challenge to snatch the overall lead from South Africa’s Burry Stander.

Platt closed out the cross-country stage of the event in 1:30:26, with Stander (Specialized Factory Racing) finishing two minutes later. Johnny Cataneo of Full-Dynamix finishing third, some thirty seconds down on Stander.

Australia’s Lachlan Norris (Giant Global Factory Offroad Team) finished fourth, with Platt’s teammate Thomas Dietsch in fifth.

The stage result caused a reshuffling of the overall classification, with Platt now leading Stander, from Dietsch, Catteneo and Norris.
