Overall leaders Kevin Evans And David George of Nedbank 360 Life won stage four of the DCM Cape Pioneer Trek. The duo finished two minutes ahead of Ben-Melt Swanepoel and Nico Bell (Bell’s Cycling -Specialized) and RE:CM “roadies” Neil MacDonald and Waylon Woolcock.
MTN Qhubeka’s pairing of Adrien Niyonshuti and Jacques Janse van Rensburg, who had a technically torrid time a day earlier finished in fourth.
Max Knox and Christoph Sauser’s technical bugbears returned as the pair hit thorns early in the stage, tearing up their tires and spoiling their hopes of a third successive stage win.
