Christoph Sauser came across the line third by a whisker to seal a third stage win for himself and teammate Max Knox. Knox had himself only minutes earlier finished second to David George, who crossed the line first on the race’s Queen stage. Sauser faced his own sprint against George’s teammate Kevin Evans, prevailing by the narrowest of margins.

MTN Qhubeka (Adrien Niyonshuti and Jaques Janse van Rensburg) were third.

While Evans and George may have been pipped for the stage win, the pair’s second place finish has all but sealed their victory in the overall classification.
