Evans and George seal victory in South Africa

Christoph Sauser and Max Knox sealed their fourth stage victory of the 2011 DCM Cape Pioneer Trek, as Kevin Evans and David George sealed their overall victory in the six day race.

Sauser and Knox’s performance throughout the race indicated that it could have been a tight contest between the two aforementioned pairs, who accounted for all six of the race’s stages. But as it was, with Sauser and Knox’s horror start to the race, Evans and George enjoyed a comfortable but emphatic overall win in the race.

Ben-Melt Swanepoel and Nico Bell of Bell’s Cycling – Specialized sealed second place overall.

Adrien Niyonshuti of the MTN Qubeka team claimed the King of the Mountains classification to go alongside his third place overall finish with Jacques Janse van Rensburg.
