We all know that do a Mountain Bike Stage Raceis to truly live. What better way to spend your time, than wake up, have some breakfast, and realise your only key task for that day is riding your bike as fast as possible. If that sounds like you, save the dates in your diary now for the Black Mountains 3 Day – 29th June to 1st July 2012!

Bearded Man is proud to announce the ‘very best of the Black Mountains’ in another unmissable MTB stage event.  In its second year, The Black Mountains 3 Day is once again returning to the incredible Brecon Beacons National Park for another action packed weekend of natural trail riding.

With a perfect mix of physical and technical challenges set along each day’s route, riders can expect breathtaking views combined with a variety of riding terrains including rock gardens, moorland, forest tracks and of course some great singletrack.

The 2012 event will once again start with a 13km evening time trial lap of the Glanusk Estate on Friday 29th June. Saturday will then see the riders take on a 70km route across the Black Mountains for that true remote wilderness feel. With 2300m of vertical ascent, riders will need their climbing legs on before enjoying the rewards of some of the country’s best natural singletrack. Sunday will require refreshed legs to tackle the 68km course that includes the legendary Gap route and some 1800m of climbing.

This is a fully serviced event and entry includes a three man tent per rider, breakfasts, dinners, fully stocked feedstations, an impressive goodie bag and some amazing prizes from some very generous sponsors, including TORQ, Singular, Morvelo, Novik Gloves, Saddle Skadaddle, Van Dessel and Loco Tuning. Riders will also have access to masseurs and bike servicing facilities to fix and mend any tired limbs and bikes at each day’s end.

The weekend entry, which includes all riding, accommodation and the food package (inc beer) is £180 per rider. You can also bring along a non-riding companion to keep you company and enjoy the experience of stage events. The cost for a companion is £70 which includes everything except the riding.

Entries are open now and more details can be found at www.blackmountains3day.co.uk where you can also register to take part. Full course details can also be found on the site with .gpx files available for all riders nearer the time.

You can also receive regular updates from the organisers’ facebook (Bearded Man) and Twitter feeds (@BeardedManNews).
