It is one of the most competitive mountain bike-devoted countries out there, and the Czech Republic has got its own stage race, at last.
This event is being organized by the renowned event team of Tom Cada/ Redpointteam, the maker of the famous Specialized Sudety marathon. The start kicks off on July 4th – 8th, 2012.The route leads through Bike resort Broumov of eastern Bohemia.
The slated venue for the race will be Teplice nad Metují as well as the castle Bishofstein, known for its beautiful environment and tranquil atmosphere. The race consists of a prologue and three stages leading mostly far away from public roads, grants big time of true biking and features a marvelous landscape of Broumov. The launch of the prologue is a nice warm up (3km long time trail with 300 meter climb to Kraví Hora) for what is coming up.

Thursday‘s first real 66km long stage is called Jestřebí hory with 2,200m of climbing. On Friday the 2nd stage’ moniker, the Broumovské stěny , has the participants savor the legendary Sudety track with a total length of 63 km and with 2,300m of climbing. On Saturday, the third stage is an open 73 km long mtb marathon titled Vraní hory with 2.600 m of climbing, leading mostly over unknown parcours, that randomly touches and crosses the Czech/Poland border.
On order to nail down this stage race, you have got to pedal 205km and climb 7.400m. A FINISHER T-shirt is granted as long as all stages are finished, obviously.
An after party on Saturday evening, takes place in „Bišík“. Do not miss this well-deserved bike happiness with live music, dancing and with abundant amount of beer for everybody.

Sunday is a chill-out time, for lounging around and a needed regeneration. While doing so, a visit of the nearby rock towns is a must.
The race will be conducted solo or in teams whereby the following categories are to be had: elite, four men and three women age categories. Prizes moneys / commemorative prizes are beyond standard so that’s a great incentive and reward for the travails of the race. Teams are applicable as well, whereby the best time of the first three will be taken into account. To make it even more attractive, plenty of sponsoring rewards will be contested for, so it’s worth the extra effort.
