At 46 km, day 6 of the 2013 Transandes Challenge will be the shortest stage of the 6 day mountain bike stage race in the southern Patagonian Andes Mountain range in Chile. However, considering the tired legs after 5 days of racing, riders may not classify it as ‘easy’ as the first half of the stage will see them climb more than 1300 m to the Villarrica Volcano ski centre. What goes up must come down and all the hard work getting to the top will be rewarded with an amazing decent back to Pucon.
During the short stage riders will have the opportunity to appreciate the magnitude of the Villarrica Lake and majestic scenery of the snow covered volcano.
The start and finish will take place in the heart of Pucon city and will allow the community to celebrate with riders the end of the 2013 edition of the Transandes Challenge.
Entries for Transandes Challenge will close on 15 December and more details can be found here.
