English, Cooper, Ward… the quick kids head to Taree!

Dylan Cooper (Rockstar Racing) winner of the 2012 Kowalski Classic, in just over 4hrs.

Dylan Cooper (Rockstar Racing) winner of the 2012 Kowalski Classic, in just over 4hrs.

Australian Marathon Champion Jason English (Merida) heads up a strong elite field with regular top 3 finisher Dylan Cooper of Rockstar racing, Kyle Ward, Anthony Shippard and Mike Blewitt all making the trip north to partake in some of the coolest singletrack and steepest climbs experienced in a marathon race this year.

Jason English, with the start number he would have preferred at XCM Worlds.

The Subaru-MarathonMTB.com Team will be taking advantage of the idyllic setting of Clarendon Farm Retreat to get together and launch their upcoming XCM season, which sees Mike racing in Mongolia, Naomi racing in Langkawi, a full team representation at the Scott 25hr, The Highland Fling, and two mixed Teams at the Hellfire Cup.

CBD strong man, Arran Pearson will be leading the singlespeed field back from his impressive Single Speed win at this year’s Tour Divide (a gruelling 4,000km epic from Canada to Mexico). Regular top 10 finisher Gavin Burland will also be competing and juggling parenting duty with his wife and elite racer Vanina Vergoz.

Or is that more of a grimace?

Imogen Smith is coming from Brisbane in an attempt to regain the elation from her 3rd place finish in mixed pair at this year’s Transalp race.

Hot from her recent Short Course Wurld Championship win, Zoe King will be returning to marathon racing after a short maternity leave. Joining her is husband and Angry Doctor champion Warren Burgess (Manly Cycles).

Also rumoured to make the trip up North are Shaun Lewis (Swell-Specialized) and Australian legend Paul Rowney (Yeti Cycle).

With such a strong field heading to Taree for the first edition of the Brownie Points Burner XCM, we can’t wait to share this epic course and see if our estimate of a 3 hours and 45 minutes winner’s finish time can be beaten.

Entries are still open, so don’t miss out on one of the coolest XCM races of the year.
