How to fix a broken chain

Quick links. Just carry one.

Bike riding is fun, and in general a lot more enjoyable than running. Primarily because you can freewheel, and not have to pedal the whole time. Of course, if this isn’t by choice as your chain has broken – it’s less fun. Broken chains can occur if the chain has been damaged by aggressive shifting, or running without chain lube for a prolonged time. Whether you ride single speed, 10 speed, 11 speed, or whatever – a  broken chain will slow you down!

It’s worth remembering to always carry a multitool with you, and either a new chain pin or a quick link. And, know how to use them.
