2014 Camelbak Highland Fling Entries Open!

The entries for the 10th Highland Fling are open – on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of November, Bundanoon in the Southern Highlands of NSW, will transform into mountain bike mecca. This year’s Fling is also the last race in the inaugural Maverick Marathon Series. The decider of who is the best across this four race series. The series started with Capital Punishment in March, the Giant Odyssey was the second round in April, and the third round will be the Kowalski Classic in late September.

The elite race is always entertaining and fast, and hopefully after a poor turn out of elite women last year, there will be a greater field due to being part of a series in 2014.

Never short of a race category, with 3 person relays, half distance, full distance, 100 mile options, cyclocross…there will also be a special category in the race for bikes more than 10 years old. So if you have something that your mates keep on suggesting you should replace, or perhaps your old bike that you couldn’t bare to part wth, then sign up and see what great old steeds you are up against.

Not just a big race, the Fling weekend is a festival of MTB goodness and includes the Rolloff World Championships, Bundanoon Dash on Saturday and 100Mile Fling, Full Fling, Half Fling, Casual Fling and Kids Fling on Sunday. The town of Bundanoon is very bike friendly, with lots of good accommodation options – although they do go quickly. It’s best to confirm well ahead of time.
