Flinders Ranges Epic – Return of the big kilometres

Race organisers Event Strategies have announced that they are running the Flinders Ranges Epic on November 1st of 2014. The Ranges have a history of distance racing events, but this race will have three options for competitors: 64, 109 and 205km. Riders will have a maximum of 16 hours to finish the event.

There are options to do the race unsupported (and thus only relying on the water from the checkpoints) or in a supported fashion. There is also a team relay option.

The full epic loop follows the Flinders Ranges by Bike route, including Pugilist Hill and Red Hill, but skipping Sacred Canyon and Skull Rock.

This looks to be a great event set in an ancient landscape. Entries are open, and more information is available via the website.

You can also keep upto date with the event via their facebook page.
