The 20th Crocodile Trophy starts in just one month, and there has been a late change to a stage start/finish for the tail end of the race. While it has already been announced that the Croc will finish in Port Douglas, the resort north of Cairns, the stage locations have become just a little bit more luxurious again, as the race moves from Granite Gorge to Skybury Coffee Plantation for the end of Stage 7.
Roasting goodness
A plantation that grows bananas, papayas and coffee beans may not know what is about to hit it, as countless hungry mountain bikers descend on their cafe post stage. They better stock up on supplies for the gourmet pizzas and banana milkshakes. But the race will be far from over at this point, with 94km to Wetherby Station the following day – although with only 900m of climbing there will be a respite from the hills. But flat is fast… The race will then finish on the stage after that, with the final run off the tablelands from Wetherby down to Port Douglas.
