Gaspé to hold first 100 mile MTB race in Eastern Canada

The Gaspé Bouette & Bitume (B2) cycling festival team has announced the addition of a new race for their festival on September 5 and 6, 2015. The Gaspesia 100 (G100) is the first 100 mile (161 km) mountain bike marathon race to be presented in Quebec and Eastern Canada.

The event will also feature 50 mile (80,5 km) and 25 mile (40,2 km) races on various sections of the main course, all held in the festive and authentic atmosphere of the
Bouette & Bitume, the only cycling festival in Canada welcoming all types of riders.

Taking advantage of the Gaspé region’s breathtaking scenery, voted third most beautiful natural region in the world by National Geographic, the beauty and difficulty of the G100
trails will undoubtedly leave no participant indifferent!

“Our team is working on a world-class route which will be one of the best in North America” said B2 founder Jean François Tapp.

The G100 will also be part of Bouette & Bitume’s brand new event : the B2 Challenge. This unique experience will offer cyclists the opportunity to combine times obtained in
the G100 with those performed the next day on their road bike at the Gran Fondo Forillon (125, 85 or 55 km races), thus allowing B2 Challenge participants to proclaim themselves “complete” cyclists!

Registrations open February 1, 2015. Full programming will be unveiled in June 2015. More information will be available on their website.
