Trek Racing Australia Secures $300K Funding

Mountain bike teams come and go, as do riders, racers and fans. But one unwaivering presence in recent years is that of Trek Racing Australia.

On the back of yet another successful year of racing, Trek Racing Australia have announced a financial commitment of $300,000 over the next three years to the Team from their founding and long term supporters, the Peil Family.

2014 saw Trek Racing Australia riders claim 7 National titles across XCO, XCM and 24hr Solo categories, representation at UCI MTB World Cups, UCI MTB World Champs, and the Commonwealth Games. Coupled with dominant performances like those achieved at the Kowalski Classic and the Highland Fling by Brendan Johnston & Dylan Cooper the Team is in a very strong position to keep moving forward.

Brendan Johnston won the Fling for the second year in a row.

With the unrivalled support from industry leading companies like Trek Bicycle Corp Australia, Shimano Australia, Anytime Fitness, FOX, GU Energy Labs, Finish Line Lube and Aussie Butt, the Team is now well funded until 2019.

The absolute focus of the team is to continue supporting Australian mountain bikers, by running frequent Junior Skills Development camps and using their Elite riders to mentor junior mountain bikers throughout the country. Trek Racing Australia’s number one goal is to keep their riders on mountain bikes, give them a pathway to the world stage and decrease the bleeding of so much of this countries mountain biking talent to the road.
