GoPro launch HERO4 Session

Never one to sit back and look at their market domination, GoPro have released their Session range of POV cameras. It’s their smallest and lightest camera yet, but still boasts 1080p60 video capability and 8MP photos, all in a strong and waterproof (to 10m) design that negates the need for a housing. While the recent Hero 3 and 4 have been quite compact, the housing still adds a fair size and weight. So the Session really is a great step ahead.

At just 74g the Session is 50% smaller than the Hero4 Silver, and 40% lighter than any other Hero4 model. It has one button control for all settings, but with full functionality with the GoPro App and wireless remote, tuning the settings is easy.

The mounting for the Session allows rotation in a ball and socket style joint, which should help open up some new angles for POV footage, even beyond some of the axle mounted options we’ve been seeing recently.

The built in battery has up to 2hrs of recording time.

Thanks to the size, mounting options and waterproofness, this camera is sure to be a hit. For full features and functions head to the GoPro shop. RRP in Australia is $579.95
