In a afternoon of hilarity and mountain bike madness, much of the Cape to Cape event moved to The Pines at Margaret River, with local riders, top elites and select invitees ready to race the clock through a serpentine singletrack in the infamous forest.
With sharks, rockstars and various fancy dressed locals maing their way through, soon it was the elite riders. Jon Odams made a quick jump to the hot seat, and looked to have his hand on the $1000 novelty cheque, before Cam Ivory ripped it clear with a stomping final run. Peta Mullens was the fastest woman and won the Shootout for the 2nd year running.
The time bonuses on offer will have an impact on GC, with both Ivory and Mullens extending their lead.
