The 2019 version of Bike Transalp has had the course revealed. Organisers say it will let you discover entirely new stage towns and completely new trails. And with a new start town in Tux, they might be right. From day one you shoot along the recently finished and never before ridden bike trail from Tuxerjoch down through Schmirntal, across Valser Jöchl to the the cathedral city of Brixen.

The next three stages take you to St. Vigil, Welschnofen und San Martino di Castrozza, all on trails through the World Cultural Heritage of the Dolomites. The Dolomites are a magical setting for mountain biking and offer a truly diverse mix of trails.; flow trails, (very!) steep climbs and, with the Carezza Trail, a gnarly free-ride descent!

After San Martino di Castrozza the track takes you along little known secret trails, trough the enchanted Trentino, towards Folgaria and the capitol Trento. You might not be here for a history lesson, but it is hard not to be moved by the many sublime sights from WW1.

This section of the Transalp has another historically interesting aspect: the 1st edition in 1998 took the riders along this exact same route! Although the finish (and that finisher beer!) is now near, the last day still needs your full focus before you reach the magical lake of Molveno.

Find the full route details for the 550km and 18500m of climbing on the Transalp website.
