The new Trek Supercaliber – the Goldilocks bike?

While we took a punt at what was going on with Jolanda Neff’s new Trek XC bike earlier this week, most of what we didn’t know is now revealed through an entertaining but a little weird parody video.

It’s really short travel, looks like a hardtail and rides like a full suspensions bike apparently. The IsoStrut is the suspension component. It is full tuneable like a real shock, but lighter than a regular full-suspension bike as the shock is integrated into the frame without all the extra hardware. This also gets rid of extra flex.

60mm isn’t a whole lot of travel, but it’s going to maintain traction and really should combine well with a dropper to really nail the tech lines in races.

Claimed weight is 1950g with the shock, and the 69 degree head angle and 74 degree seat angle deliver modern XC geometry without trying to turn an XC bike into a trail bike.
