Orucase B2 Bike Travel Case

Orucase have now been a part of the bike case and accessories game for over a decade. A brand emerging from thrifty, innovative bike racers who were trying to make ends meet on the US criterium circuit. As is a common story among aspirational and already established bike racers the world over trying to scrape the funds together to get to the next race was proving a challenge and hefty bike fees charged by airlines to transport bikes as checked luggage were proving to be a barrier between getting to the next big money crit race in America or staying home and riding junk miles.

The Orucase B2 travel case

Hence, the guys at Orucase created what is now known as the ‘Airport Ninja’ a bike travel case small enough to be disguised as a massage table bag and slim enough to fit in a taxi boot etc. This proved so popular as was offering domestic bike racers and their often cash strapped teams the opportunity to get to so many more races without the waste of money on baggage fees. Orucase grew and their high quality offerings then expanded to saddle bags, bar bags and frame bags.

XL 29er making its way into the B2 travel case

Before long MTB riders wanted in on the action! The B-2 travel case was born. The B-2 is a hardy and slim travel case developed from the same principles as its predecessor.

Upon opening up the B-2 my initial thoughts was “NO WAY” is my XL 29er gonna fit in this thing. thinking I was going to have to go through an awkward returning process. Alas, Before too long of slinging Allen keys around and wrapping my pride & joy up, the thing slid right in. I also thought the claim of it fitting in most car boots was going to be a stretch, alas, without the annoyance of lowering the back seats it went right into the boot of my Subaru Forester.

Our team have been using some of the Orucase frame storage options in longer XCM’s and gravel races.

Getting the bike to a point where it will fit into the B-2 does require a decent degree of mechanical nuance. However, if you have been comfortable in using a case that requires both wheels off in the past then it should be no stress for you. Further steps of fork removal, front caliper removal and securing headset bearings with a zip tie is really only an extra 3-5min max.

The packing is sturdy as! 0 damage upon arrival in Colorado after 2 domestic flights with some of the most notorious baggage handling airports in the world and 0 damage. The case even has a sneaky stash with backpack straps and shoulder strap should the occasions arrive where the wheelie bag option is no longer feasible.

Love your bike? Wear your bike!

Awesome product and really down to earth company that really believe in what they are producing which makes a difference in this day and age. So if you are semi competent with allen keys, have had a gutful of packing up kid seats in the back of the car to fit ya bike bag in, paying a ‘bike fee’ when you travel or if you love your bike so much you want to wear it (on the back) then Orucase B-2 is for you.

Orucase is distributed in Australia through Lead Out Sports.
