MarathonMTB.com have received the latest news regarding the conditions in South East Queensland, and how this may effect the Mt Joyce Marathon, which is hosting the MTBA Australian Marathon Championships for 2011.
“Two Wheel Promotions can confirm that the trails at Mount Joyce Escape are intact and construction is progressing well – even after all the rain we’ve had recently!” said race organisers in a statement on Wednesday.
“Construction is still on target for the park to be complete early-mid 2011. Currently the multi-use tracks are at 75 per cent completed (including a section of the proposed Boonah to Ipswich trail) and with the mountain bike trails at 65 per cent complete.
“There is still some finishing work being carried out on site, including capping the shuttle road, construction of the berm into Hidden Valley and some final work around the dam site.”
