MarathonMTB.com Team 2018

At MarathonMTB.com, sponsoring a mountain bike team is part of what we have done since inception. It’s imperative that we bring stories and results from the inside of bike races, not the sidelines. Our riders are highly experienced in their respective disciplines, and entertaining writers as well as being media savvy ambassadors. In 2018 the team receives excellent product support from our technical sponsors, and will race aboard Norco Revolver mountain bikes again in 2018. We custom build them with support from Shimano, Fox, Maxxis, Kogel Bearings and Mt Zoom.

SuperB tools and RideMechanic help keep our bikes running, and we’re kitted out with flash Swiftwick socks, Adidas Eyewear, Lazer Helmets, and we order our team kit through Champion System.

This year our racers will be competing in a diverse range of races, from the Australian National XCO and XCM Series, to the XCO World Cup, major Australian marathons, some select UCI XCM races and stage races around the world.

Imogen Smith

Imogen Smith joins the MarathonMTB.com Team for the fifth year, with clear goals: a podium at the XCM National Championships in Townsville, and qualification for the XCM Worlds in the Dolomites, Italy, where she aims to better her top 20 performance from 2016. Living in the foothills of Mt Coot-tha, Imogen, a natural climber, has the perfect terrain right in her backyard to make sure she is one of the best climbers in the marathon and stage racing scene – lots of mountains. With palmares including winning the Crocodile Trophy (2014) and three stage victories at the Swiss Epic in mixed pairs (with husband Mike Blewitt in 2015), and National XCM race wins Imogen hopes to make her presence felt in key XCM events and select National XCO races.

Justin Morris

Having retired from professional road racing at the end of 2014, Justin Morris rejoined the MarathonMTB.com Team in 2016 to pedal in anger again. As a founding team member in 2011, Justin has returned to the sport where, as a teenager, his cycling career began. 2016 had a rough start for Morris with a broken pelvis and ribs, but finished strongly with podiums in XCM events and an overall win plus many stage victories at the Simpson Desert Bike Race. A ferocious competitor, Justin has his sights set on select national-level marathons and regional events along the east coast of Australia, and will travel to the Tour de Timor in the middle of the year. As a type 1 diabetic, Morris is passionate about spreading the message that diabetes is no impediment to reaching your dreams.
