The Highland Fling has been confirmed as the fifth and final event of the 2011 Real Insurance XCM Series.
Organised by Wild Horizons, the Highland Fling is one of Australia’s most popular mountain bike events, attracting some 2000 riders.
“It’s great to have The Highland Fling as part of the Real Insurance XCM Series. It gives more riders the opportunity to do at least three events that will count toward their ranking,” said Theo Grobler from CycleNation.
Huw Kingston of Wild Horizons added “We’ve been discussing our involvement with CycleNation for some time and are really pleased to add the Fling into the Series. It not only gives the Elite riders something else to aim at but should be a lot of fun for all the riders measuring their marathon performances against their mates.”
