Organisers of the Garda Trentino round of the Sympatex Bike festival have released details of the 18th edition of the event, which will take place from April 29 to May 1 this year.
The festival will events to appeal to 4X and endurance cross country. The programme will kick-off on Friday April, 29 with the Scott Nightsprint 4X race, with freestyle mountain bike riders Bobby Root and Arne Tschugg showing their style to the crowds. Enduro riders will get a chance to test their legs for Saturday’s marathon a day earlier with the Specialised Enduro Ride powered by Shimano.
The main event for an estimated 2,000 marathon mountain bike riders will take place on Saturday in the Rocky Mountain BIKE Marathon powered by Vaude.
Course distances will range from 27 to 105 kilometres, with 600 to 3,561 metres of total ascent across the four different routes on offer.
The festival will also include exhibits by manufacturers and industry suppliers. Participants will be able to test many new parts and products.
“What makes our proven festival concept special is a mix of a classic bike show combined with various racing disciplines for professionals, amateur cyclists and children. Moreover, visitors can experience the pure pleasure of cycling in a stunning region,” said event manager Monika Weber.
The Italian round will also be the first in a season-long five race series, launched earlier this year. It will be followed by the Rocky Mountain BIKE Marathon in Willingen (June 12), the Malevil Cup in the Czech Republic (June 18), the Salzkammergut Trophy (July 16) in Austria and as the final race, the Erzgebirge Bike Marathon in Seiffen on August 7.
