Australia’s newest Mountain Bike Event, Bottlebutt 100 MTB Marathon, also part of the Real Insurance XCM Series
The Bottlebutt 100, Australia’s newest mountain bike event, has joined the Real Insurance XCM Series as the 4 th event, replacing the cancelled Angry Dr event.
Organised by iAdventure, the Bottlebutt 100 will be held in Port Macquarie on Saturday 10th of September. Unfortunately, this clashes with the popular International MTB Stage Race, the Tour de Timor. Time will tell if this will effect the field at either event. The Real Insurance XCM Series does not require participation at all events, so perhaps top riders may favour the cash purse on offer further north?
Designed in consultation with two time World Solo 24hr MTB champion Jason English, the event offers 2 distances, the Bottlebutt 100, and the half-marathon distance Hairy-Butt 50.
While you race on Saturday, the event centre and free camping will be open from Friday afternoon through to Sunday morning, allowing you to enjoy a leisurely Saturday afternoon/evening visiting Port Macquarie and perhaps partaking in the ‘unofficial’ event after party
New trails, free camping and tent spaces, and a full weekend of MTB action and social interaction, and two Butts that will be remembered far longer than Pippa’s ever will, the Bottlebutt and Hairy-Butt will fill up quick, no Butts about it!
Registrations open Tuesday 24th May at 10:00am.
