Organisers of Canada’s BC Bike Race have announced that the 2012 edition has been sold out. Registration for 2013 will open July 8, one day after the completion of this year’s event.
In its sixth year BC Bike Race has once again reached 100% capacity, all 500 participants will start the race on July 1, in Cumberland, British Columbia. With the addition of 12 Gravity Enduro timed sections and a whole new Day 7 in Whistler the 2012 edition is shaping up to be very exciting.
BC Bike Race is a unique mountain bike stage race that promises competitors the ‘Ultimate Singletrack Experience’; by its very nature this means that the number of participants each year will be limited.
“To provide the best quality experience both on and off the bike and to ensure an intimate full service event is executed at a premium level we must limit the numbers,“ said race director Dean Payne.
“Each of the other events in this category has their own flavour and their own capacity, but we don’t foresee being able to or interested in hosting more than 500 each year. It’s simply the most sustainable number for the quality of event we wish to host, getting to know each and every person is our goal.
“BC Bike Race has always had an amazing field of athletes from top pros to amateurs however every one of the 2012 participants in either the Challenge or Epic will tackle an amazing course and revel in an awesome singletrack experience.”
