The second round of the popular SRAM Singletrack Mind Series is just around the corner. Sunday 24th will see the Chocolate Foot Event crew running one of their seven hour Enduro events at East Kowen Forest. You read right – 7 hours. With a distinct lack of daylight at this time of year, the first three rounds are all seven hour events. And yes, at Kowen! The trails here are some of the best in Australia, and with help from the Kowalski Brothers Trailworx, they will be in great shape for the race.
Chocolate Foot recently ran the Rock Wallaby Enduro, at Appin, with much success and a lot of happy mountain bikers. The rocky course at Appin is a far cry from what is on offer at East Kowen Forest. The track is 11km long, with favourite sections, new sections, and rarely raced on sections making up the distance. If you are planning on riding the Kowalski Classic Marathon in September, this could be a great chance to ride some of the trails that may be used in the course. Or come down for a hit out with some mates before the Steven’s Bikes Husky 100, the next race in the Real Insurance XCM Series. Or just go because Chocolate Foot run a great event on great trails.
Racing starts at 8am on the Sunday, but Event registration is open from 1pm on Saturday, with dinner available at the Event Centre. You can camp onsite, but get there before 9pm. Online entries will remain open until midnight on 20th of June, so make sure you get in quickly.
