On Tuesday 10 July entries will open for Australia’s biggest mountain bike marathon the Briars Highland Fling (10-11 November, 2012), also the final round of the Real Insurance XCM Series.
With a reputation for fun, varied and challenging courses, The Fling attracts both Australia’s elite level riders as well as a 2000 plus strong field of ‘weekend warriors’ creating a mountain bike festival weekend unlike any other. The weekend will also feature a new special event – details are still top secret but it promises to be serious, and fun.
The Fling is a well known event that draws a crowd. Entries won’t be available for long. It has been like that for quite some time, but with the increased interest and competition that the Real Insurance XCM Series has created, it will no doubt fill up quickly.
There are a variety of categories to race at the Fling: The Casual Fling, Half Fling, Full Fling, Flinging Threesome (relay) or the 100 mile Fling. Something for anyone’s persuasion.
There are some great prizes available during the entry process, with refunds and great equipment on offer to lucky racers. Make sure you get across to the Wild Horizons website for the entry, when they go live on July 10th. The Fling is a huge event, and is set to be a great weekend of racing this November.
