A new face, new routing, and new challenge: as of now, one of the most popular and well-known German mountain bike stage races for both pros and amateurs gets a facelift. After a total of six editions, the event formerly known as BIKE Trans Germany becomes the BIKE Four Peaks which will last over four days from June 5 thru 8, 2013.
The official registration to the 2013 BIKE Four Peaks kicks off Tuesday, November 27, at 12 PM on www.bike-fourpeaks.de.
The brand new name stands for a constant improvement of its forerunner which started with as a week long paired race stage set-up leading from West to East of Germany but ended up taking place at the Alpine foothills in recent years, over four days, for individual racers.
The new BIKE Four Peaks label also takes into account that the routing has not been limited to Germany in the past; a fact which will also play a major role for future course plannings.
“Our goal is to provide a varying routing for up-coming events which will not only lead through the most beautiful sceneries of the Alps but also crosses the German borders from time to time. We want to provide an attractive course every year,” said Marc Schneider, who is the race director again in 2013.
The routing of the very first BIKE Four Peaks will be revealed in about two weeks, mid of November 2012.
The BIKE Four Peaks promises to be a true highlight of the 2013 mountain bike calendar. Designed for a maximum of 1,000 participants, the four-day stage race will lead through the most spectacular mountain bike areas of the Alps. Pros as well as amateurs will pedal a total of some 300 kilometers which are peppered with about 9,000 meters in elevation gain.
Besides entering the race as single starter, every participant also has the chance to register for a team of four or even more mountain bikers.
The registration starts online on November 27, 2012.
