Just about one month before the official registration for the 16th edition of the Alps classic opens online on www.bike-transalp.de, SIGMA SPORT has secured the presenter title for the world’s toughest mountain bike stage race which now trades under the name Craft BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma.
The producer of technical gear for both amateur and pro sportsmen, which actually got named “best brand” again by some of the European leading cycling magazines, thus takes over the second biggest sponsor package.
“We are more than happy to welcome SIGMA SPORT on board, one of the most prestigious and well-placed brands in the mountain bike scene. Besides the race itself, also every single participant will benefit from the new cooperation over the course of the eight event days next July,” said Mathias Ley, CEO of the Hamburg based organising event company Ley Events GmbH.
During next year’s Craft BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma the new partner will be extensively featured on the big expo area and thus support every mountain biker with its products as well as help and advice. Having a well functioning bike computer is quite useful in a difficult stage race, especially for amateurs who may not have team support in the tech/feed zones. Knowing how far you are into a course, or up a climb, is essential for pacing.
“We are proud to support the possibly most known mountain bike stage race of the world and to be even closer connected to the myth Transalp than we had been before already,” explained Robin Schendel, CEO Marketing of SIGMA SPORT.
The registration for the 16th Transalp editions kicks off December 11, 2012, at 12 PM.
