New Final Stage for Crocodile Trophy

The 2013 edition of the Crocodile Trophy will not only include a brand-new Relay Team category for three riders in addition to the individual and Adventure Pairs classifications, but also the longest individual time trial ever raced and, what’s just been confirmed, a brand-new last stage from Hopevale to Cooktown on day nine.

Reports just came in from a crew of mountain bikers who had been exploring the final stage for the organisers from Hopevale to Cooktown. Hope Vale is a small Aboriginal community 46km north west of Cooktown and home to about 1500 people. It is located in a picturesque valley surrounded by tropical native bushland, mountain ranges, pristine coastal plains and diverse flora and fauna of Tropical Northern Queensland. With 56km the course is being described as being relatively short, flat and fast with well graded dirt roads, including several river crossings and beautiful mangrove rain forest landscapes. This last race stage promises to be one of the highlights of this year’s 19th Crocodile Trophy.

Check out all the inclusions in the entry fee, such as the fully catered food & beverage service, feeding stations, early-bird jersey (until 20th August), medical services, logistics, shuttle services and a ticket to the gala dinner in Cooktown, to name but a few. There are several additional service packages to choose from as well – including the popular Tent Service. The tent will be readily available, built up and taken down for you each day, including a camping bed. Riders can enjoy plenty of luggage space, better regeneration after the day’s stage in a comfortable camping bed and less excess luggage payments.

Arriving at a campsite and needing to put up a tent can seem a bit too hard.
