South Africa lead the way in National XCM Series’ having a well publicised and well-attended series each year. Given South Africa’s pull on European MTB professionals for summer training – the racing is pretty hot, literally and figuratively. And the Fairview Attakwas Extreme was no exception.
Zoon Cronje just sent through his highlights from the race, and it really captures the essence of South African marathon racing, with long expanses of farm road, before climbing into and over the mountains that are otherwise always on the horizon.
Karl Platt proved to be the fastest, and Team Bulls showed their strength taking 3 of the top 4 places. Robyn de Groot had a great win – but full results are online. Otherwise, just enjoy the scenery – and if you’re lined up for the Cape Epic, get excited.
