So far the year 2020 has thrown up challenges around the world. The world of sport has been upended, but in some countries events have been able to reschedule, allowing us mountain bikers to set goals for later in the year. Goal setting is a key part of motivation, and a positive goal to train for is important right now. And we have developed 6 and 12 week training plans with team rider Justin Morris. Justin is the founding coach at Mind Matters Athlete Coaching, and as a frequent top 10 finisher at The Convict 100, he is well=placed to develop training plans for the classic marathon race just outside of Sydney.
What’s involved?
Unlike hiring a coach for one on one training, you will receive a 6 or 12 week prepared plan in the Today’s Plan training software. Justin will be in touch with the basics of what’s involved and what the terms mean, and then it’s up to you to do the work.
How successful will I be?
This training plan is lead by you. While Justin will have designed to workouts for you with the right amount of training stress and rest for optimal performance at the new August 1 date for the Convict 100, if you skip lots of sessions you may not get the results you’re after.
How much will it cost?
You can purchase the training plans via the Convict 100 website, the 12 week plan costs $69 and starts on 11 May, while the 6 week plan costs $39 and starts on 22 June.
This is substantially cheaper than getting in touch with a private coach, with the direction on training from a highly qualified coach with direct experience with the Convict 100.
