Transpyr 2015 Entries Open

After the hardest edition in the Transpyr history, there are already about a hundred entrants for 2015
The international impact of Transpyr 2014 is growing the myth and the expectation of this event. Transpyr’s reputation as one of the toughest events in the world is growing fast. Last year, 45% of the riders were international, giving riders the opportunity to share experiences with athletes from all over the world in the two disciplines; road and mountain bike. For the sixth edition, competition for the top spots will be even greater given the increasingly high level of participants.

The race for a place in Transpyr Mountain Bike for 2015 has already begun. Nine months before the event, about 100 road and mountain bike riders have already signed up. They want to get the distinguished finisher jersey of Transpyr on arrival in Hondarribia, a garment that accredits them as a survivor of one of the toughest tests that a rider may face in the world of multi day events.

Starting on the 28th of June and ending on the 4th of July, this sixth edition retains the same appeal and demanding level, with its format of 7 stages beginning in Roses for mountain biking and in Cadaqués for the road riders. The stages are separated by an average of 110 km with 2600 metres of vertical gain. Arrivals and departures will be in Camprodon, La Seu d’Urgell, El Pont de Suert, Ainsa, Jaca and Roncesvalles to finally reach the Bay of Biscay in the beautiful town of Hondarribia.

Last year’s mountain bike winners, Israel Nunez and Robert Bou did so with a spectacular time of 29 hours 54 minutes.

As in previous editions, road and mountain bike riders will be travelling together, sharing experiences at the same stage points. They all ride through unknown places, challenging mountain passes and for the most competitive, timed sections.
