Anna Beck is a Brisbane based mountain biker who packs a punch. With a full-schedule of life, she still manages to run a women’s MTB Team (Sol Breads-Cyclinic), coach a number of athletes, and race national level XCO and XCM, plus state level road.
This year, Beck made it a goal to represent Australia at the XCM World Championships in Laissac, France – even though she has never considered herself a marathon racer. But a 5th place at the Australian National XCM Championships, and then a 4th at the National XCM Round in Bendigo secured her a berth on the Australian XCM Team.
This year, Anna is riding a Rocky Mountain Element, and it’s a custom build from the frame up, with considerable tweaking from her husband Aiden Lefmann, front man at Cyclinic – who do high-end suspension servicing.
Here’s a look at Anna’s bike ahead of the XCM World Championships. Wheels weren’t shot well, but they’re Nextie Bike rims to Project 321 hubs with a Maxxis Ignitor front and Ikon rear. A good choice for the mostly dry but sometimes sloppy course here in Laissac.

XTR Race levers sit neatly besides the XTR Di2 shifter, which has been switched from stock to shift more like a traditional lever. Bars are 3T, with the wires taped on.

The Shimano Di2 indicator is sat next to the Bryton 100 GPS

That’s not normal… Fox don’t normally do such a short stroke shock for IRD. But Lefmann customised it.

The Fox 32 is obviously IRD as well, and Cyclinic tuned. Stock at 100mm travel. That’s a Maxxis Ignitor up front.

The battery for the Di2 runs the IRD as well, and it’s ported into the seat post – entering from near the BB.

The fastest and smoothest lock out in the business. Fox IRD at the left thumb.

Standard trigger setup for Beck.

That’s a mix. XTR Di2 mech, but XX1 crank with 170mm cranks and direct mount chain ring plus XX1 10-42 cassette.

The frame does the Di2 cabling pretty neatly.

Beck’s wheels roll on Project 321 hubs, which have 120 points of engagement.
