The European Championship will return to the Czech Republic in 2022. The European Marathon MTB Champions will be selected on the trails of the Malevil Cup in Lusatian Mountains, 10 years after the last time.
The Commission of European Cycling Union entrusted the Malevil Cup organisers to host the European Championship in MTB Marathon (XCM) in 2022. They are already experienced with organising this event in 2012, the Championship is coming back to Jablonne v Podjestedi after 10 years.
In 2012 it was a successful premiere of the European Championship in Lusatian Mountains. Victory was claimed by Kristian Hynek who joined the mountain bike marathon world-class racers and got a contract with the top team Canyon-Topeak. He won Malevil Cup also this year, for the third time in his career. Silver was claimed at the time by his colleague from the Team of Ceska Sporitelna Pavel Boudný. The success of Czech representantives was completed by fourth Jan Jobanek and tenth Marek Rauchfuss, who also won the silver medal in U23 category.
The XCM European Championship 2019 will be held in Norwegian Kvam close to Lillehammer, but the exact date of the race is not confirmed yet with the UCI. The official website of the Norwegian organiser mentions the date of 29th June 2019.
The European Cycling Union has decided the next three XCM European Championship locations for 2020 – 2022. In 2020 the Championship will go to Serra de Estrela in Portugal, in 2021 to Evolène in Switzerland and finally in 2022 to Jablonne v Podjestedi in the Czech Republic.

2022 – Jablonné v Podještědí (Czech Republic)
